Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a predominantly ground-based martial art. It uses the principles of leverage, angles, pressure and timing, as well as knowledge of human anatomy, to achieve nonviolent submission of the opponent. The difference from other arts is that Jiu Jitsu focuses on grappling and close contact “grappling” techniques and the application of chokes and joint manipulations.
The ability to keep going when the going gets tough.
All the luck and talent in the world mean nothing if these gifts are not applied skillfully, consistently, and with perseverance.
Most of what we want in life is just that: simple, but not easy.
Rather, we should make self-discipline, in all its forms, the focus of a life lived in all its aspects and forms.
It is self-discipline that encourages us to be patient, to work hard, to be honest with our goals, to shrug off setbacks and obstacles, to be realistic and mature, and to never expect the good things in life to come to us effortlessly.
Wake up every morning and do what you were created to do.
Will it be easy? NO!
Will it be worth it? ABSOLUTELY.
